Dance like an animal

10:00am-4:00pm on Saturday 23 March
11:00am-4:00pm on Sunday 24 March

Times shown are in GMT (UTC +0) up to the 26th March. For events on or after 27th March times are in BST (UTC +1).

University of Cambridge New Museums Site, New Museums Site Downing Street, CB2 3RS

The workshop is designed for beginners and is aimed at everyone above the age of 8. Here's a chance to explore a new dance form, Kuchipudi, and learn how to use the body to tell a story. Participants will be made familiar with a brief history of the dance form they are being introduced to. You will explore balance, keeping rhythm, and explore how to emote with your faces to match the body movements, as you transform into majestic tigers, gentle elephants and frolicking deer.
We will learn the movements, create a story together, and then dance out the story we've created to some music. Look forward to lots of laughter, some learning, and discovering how flexible your fingers can be.
Movements can be altered to accommodate individual mobility and users of mobility aids.
