THE HERITAGE OF DISPLACEMENT: ROOTS AND ROUTES OF IDENTITY ON THE MOVE

Tuesday 18 October: 12:00pm - 2:00pm

McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, Seminar Room, Downing Street, CB2 3ER

The forced displacement of people and the illicit trade of artefacts uproot cultural heritage and decontextualise it. On the routes of exile cultural heritage can be a source of resilience but it can also provoke misunderstandings.

This panel brings together researchers and artists in conversation focusing on Syrian heritage in particular. It is accompanied by a photography exhibition.
