Join us for a virtual tour of the Babraham Institute’s Biological Support Unit to see how our vital work is carried out, and hear how our team rose to the challenge of COVID-19. Meet the people ensuring animal welfare is our top priority, and find out what it’s really like working with animals in science.
The Babraham Institute is a world-leading biosciences research institute whose work focuses on better understanding ageing and the effect it has on our bodies. Much of the Institute’s work underpins biomedical treatments for conditions such as cancer, autoimmune conditions and infectious diseases, to name a few. This important research is only possible through the efforts of facilities on campus like the Biological Support Unit, which oversees our animal mouse research models.
In this virtual tour, you will be able to explore the facility and hear from the staff on the ground about the work they do. Discover how the facility remains clear of any disease outbreaks and what rules we follow to ensure our animals are used for research only when absolutely necessary. Please join us as we open up this often-unseen aspect of research more than ever before in this interactive experience, and discuss the societal impact of our work.
