A CHANGE OF VIEW: CHARTING CHANGE IN ASIAN LANDSCAPES

The University Library's Map Department holds over 1.2 million maps and atlases, and the collection includes early printed and manuscript maps through to modern resources including Ordnance Survey digital map data. Additionally, Royal Commonwealth Society Library based at the UL provides a treasure-trove of information, pictorial and written, print and manuscript, on the Commonwealth and Britain's former colonial territories, comprising over 300,000 printed items, over 800 archival collections and over 120,000 photographs.

Together for this special event, a selection of items from these two vast and important collections will be brought together to give an unique insight into the spectacular changes to Mumbai and Hong Kong, captured in maps, photographs and water-colours.
