DISTORTING TIME AND SPACE: INSPIRING CREATIVE ADVENTURING FOR CHILDREN’S WELLBEING

Friday 25 October: 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Anglia Ruskin University, Lord Ashcroft Building - LAB107, East Road, CB1 1PT

This interactive artist-led workshop showcases the artistic practice of Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination (CCI), a charity whose work brings together artists, educators, parents and researchers with a shared passion for how the arts and nature can transform lives, and a belief in the power of community activism. Through the workshop, led by Sally Todd, a CCI artist along with researchers Dr Nicola Walshe, ARU, and Dr Elsa Lee, University of Cambridge, you get the opportunity to experience CCI’s collaborative approach to working with children, committed to deep listening, creative adventuring, and artistic co-creation. You have the opportunity to create an activity appropriate for use in your own setting that draws on the principles of improved wellbeing through artistic practice in nature, as derived from our research. You will be left with a deeper understanding of how you might support children’s wellbeing, in particular by encouraging children’s independence and confidence, and providing inspiration to support creativity.

The workshop will have an outdoor element so please dress appropriately!
