DO WE ALL HAVE A BIT OF OCD IN US?

Saturday 26 October: 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Anglia Ruskin University, Lord Ashcroft Building - LAB109, East Road, CB1 1PT

Can someone really be a ‘little bit OCD’? Do you sometimes obsess about things? Do you find yourself compelled to perform little rituals even though you admit they can be nonsensical? Many online memes and celebrities endorse the notion that being overly-organized or rigid is similar to having a bit of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). However, OCD is a serious mental health disorder, which can cause significant distress and everyday impairment to the individual and those close to them. Dr Sharon Morein, ARU offer different perspectives on what ‘being OCD’ is really about, different accounts of the disorder and whether we all have some OCD in us.
