From tiny pocket-sized books for business use or for travel to broadside ballads and large-scale plans and maps, Samuel Pepys collected examples of the extremes of what it was possible to print in the seventeenth-century. The exhibition reveals the range of his interests, the many uses of the book in the period and the developing technologies of printing. As well as the special exhibition, visitors will be able to see Pepys’ famous diary and some of the exquisite manuscripts he owned as well as the unique furniture he had made for his London study.
