KEEP YOUR COINS: I WANT CHANGE - TRANSFORMING POVERTY THROUGH RELATIONSHIPS

Tuesday 22 October: 12:30pm - 1:30pm

The Jubilee Centre, The Jubilee Lounge, St Andrews House 59 St Andrews Street, CB2 3BZ

Statistics on poverty across the globe, or even in the UK, are difficult to process. What we do not get from Oxfam or the Trussell Trust is a sense of reality as experienced by people who struggle daily for their basic needs. This only comes through going through it ourselves, or personally knowing others who have. But establishing these relationships provides more than just insight; it provides the clue to permanent change in people’s situations. Once we see how broken relationships result in poverty, we can begin to see how strong relationships and healthy families are foundational to and essential for change. The best way to understand this is not theory, but stories of real people. This event gives a window into the stories of individuals, both from the UK and Malawi, of people who have and are walking this journey. These stories illustrate how healthy relationships are not only the means, but also the end of a flourishing human life.
