IS THIS THE WAY WE COULD FIX OUR WORLD?

Friday 25 October: 12:30pm - 1:30pm

The Jubilee Centre, St. Andrews House 59 St Andrews Street, CB2 3BZ

Our world is facing massive challenges. Soaring population, rising temperatures, cyclic recessions and mounting debt. And it’s not clear that either socialism or Western liberal capitalism offer a sustainable way forward.
But what if we could change politics, the economy and the future of our world by looking first at the relational frameworks which connect everything? That’s the radical idea at the heart of Relationism, a new political philosophy that starts, not with rights or market forces or social classes, but by pointing to the fundamental role of relationships in helping individuals, and societies, flourish.
Relationism belongs to us all, because relationships are the mechanism through which all social goods are realized (including productivity, efficiency, education, justice and sustainability). They are also a good in their own right. When we talk about support networks, families, friendships, communities and nations, we are talking about relationships.
